Description

Bicci di Lorenzo’s intricate painting presenting a scene in the life of saint Nicholas of Myra – a scene that gave rise to the tradition of exchanging gifts during Christmas – was the direct inspiration for the Orange Balls candle. The fragrance addresses the origin of the custom and reminds about it primary meaning encouraging selfless kindness and empathy. It is no coincidence that the fragrance’s name was derived from orange that signify kindness in culture, but are also treated as a synonym of luxury. Golden oranges are presented in the foreground of di Lorenzo’s painting. Nowadays, this fruit is often added to Christmas gifts. Therefore, the scent of sweet oranges is obviously present in Orange Balls, but the top note reveals also hints of nutmeg and rose pepper. Then, the heart note manifests itself; filled with the aroma of jasmine, spicy and woody notes. The fragrance is finished by musk, vanilla, cedar wood, patchouli and balsamic notes. Many of these scents are associated with the territories of Asia Minor. After all, it’s where saint Nicholas actually lived.

Hence, Orange Balls refers to primary ideas behind gift giving, putting on a pedestal empathy, selflessness, and the genuine wish to make someone else happy.

Using wax melts

To use wax melts, you need a wax warmer to heat it up. The wax is placed in heater's bowl and an unscented tea light is set underneath. As it heats up, the wax melts and becomes liquid. Remove wax from the bowl once the fragrance is gone. You can do it the “hot” way, so pour warm wax into a bowl with cold water or the “cold” way, gently pop the hardened wax out using a toothpick or place the warmer in a freezer for about 10 minutes. Once removed, you can easily discard the wax.

The time of heating up the wax depends on the selected tea light. I recommend choosing those that burn for about 3-4 hours. If you want to enjoy the beautiful fragrance again, just replace and lit up a new tea light.

Safety

A wax warmer should always be placed in a safe, temperature-resistant place. Keep it away from flammable materials such as furniture and curtains and sources of heat, such as radiators and TVs. It’s important to place the warmer away from drought and never leave the burning candle unattended. Remember that it is not recommended to move wax warmer when it’s being heated by a candle. To ensure safety, keep it out of the reach of children and animals.
